One day of our itinerary was dedicated to the city of Arezzo, located 75 km from Siena, and Cortona, 31 km from Arezzo. We start the day early, leaving your hotel in Rome, arriving in the city, and from there we access Corso Italia, one of the main thoroughfares in Arezzo.

Unlike other Tuscan destinations, Arezzo is not such a small city and has around 100,000 inhabitants, but its historic center can be explored on foot. The city center has a lot of little shops, several restaurants and different churches to visit.

With a day in Arezzo, or rather half a day, you can visit Piazza Grande, the main square of the city and where an antiques fair takes place on weekends, admire the Santa Maria della Pieve Church, the Cathedral of Saint Peter and Donato, and especially the Basilica of San Francisco, which was completed in the 14th century and although it has a relatively simple style of decoration, inside is the Capella Bacci, with Renaissance frescoes by Piero della Francesca, known as “Legenda della vera Croce”.
