In addition to the cathedral, the Duomo complex also comprises the ancient Baptistery of Saint John, with its doors carved in bronze and the Belfry, designed by Giotto. If you have good breath and don’t mind being in tight spaces, you can enjoy a unique view of the city. All you have to do is climb the approximately 400 steps of the Dome or the Belfry!

In all, Florence has something over 80 museums. Among those at the top of most lists are the City hall, the Palazzo della Signoria (aka Palazzo Vecchio), a wonderful building with magnificent rooms and some great art.  The Archeological Museums, of History of Science, of the Stibbert, of the Works of Santa Croce, of the Cloister of Santa Maria Novella, the Zoological (“La Specola”), the Bardini, and the Horne.

Pisa was, since the times of the Roman Empire, an important port on the Mediterranean. Then, as an independent city-state, Pisa became one of the 4 great Italian maritime republics and became as important as Genoa, Venice and Amalfi.

The magnificent architectural works of Pisa date back to the height of its wealth and glory, when it had lands in Africa and Asia. At that time, corresponding to the end of the Middle Ages, Pisa had so many and so influential artists that it gave its name to an important style: Pisan, a kind of Romanesque with Islamic reflections.

Pisa is a fascinating city, with polychrome marble facades, elegant streets along the river, museums filled with masterpieces of the highest standards, celebrating the splendor of this venerable naval republic. Pisa has much more than the Tower!!!

We’ll show you one of the most intriguing effects in Pisa, the echo of the Baptistery!!
