So many times acclaimed by different writers and poets or reproduced on screen by painters of all nationalities, Positano is also a reference in the areas of sailor and Culinary style fashion. Thus, you can count on many boutiques, shops and stalls, as well as several welcoming restaurants, cafes and ice cream where you can taste excellent sweets and delicacies.
AMALFI
Amalfi is the largest city along the Amalfitan coast and apparently the name of it. It is one of the most popular sites to stay, after Sorrento, and an excellent alternative to high Positano prices. Its location, precisely in half, can be very advantageous to visit the coast in two different parts and meanings: one day for this and the other day to the west. From Amalfi it is also easy to catch a ferry for Capri, but more distant places like Pompei or Naples are no longer so accessible.
The city is very lively and busy. It has a large dark sand beach (be sure to go to the tip of the seawall to see the city in front) and a pedestrian historic center with alleys and tunes full of great restaurants, ice cream and small grocery stores. The icing at the top of the cake is its majestic cathedral, literally fitted by the buildings of the central square (Piazza Duomo). To not lose!
