On your Civitavecchia to Rome Tours the reserved driver will pick you up next to your cruise ship at 7am or 8am. After about 1.5 hours (depending on traffic) you will arrive at your first stop, St. Peter’s Square rebuilt and redesigned thanks to Gian Lorenzo Bernini between 1656 and 1667.
You can continue your visit to the second stop, the Pantheon. We will continue our tour through Piazza Navona, built on the ancient stadium of Diocletian that was used for athletic competitions. Today you can admire the Fountain of the Four Rivers, the Fountain of Neptune and the Church of Saint Agnes in Agony in Navona square. The stop you can’t miss is the Colosseum (Flavian Amphitheatre), you will travel along the Fori Imperiali to Piazza Venezia where you can admire the Vittoriano and the balcony from which Benito Mussolini declared the Second World War against France and Great Britain.

Soon after, Via del Corso, we will take you to the Trevi Fountain, by Nicola Salvi. The artist was responsible for building the fountain in the 18th century after winning a competition organized by Pope Clement XII. Then, your driver will accompany you to Piazza Spagna, where you can admire the famous Spanish Steps and Pietro Bernini’s La Barcaccia Fountain, continuing to Piazza del Popolo and its obelisk.
The tour will end at 15:30 / 16:00, when we will return to the Port of Civitavecchia. You will be ready to board and continue your cruise around 5pm.

Both the Square and the Basilica have enormous cultural and religious value, as they are the places where the celebrations of papal masses, canonization of saints, proclamation of popes, among other Catholic events take place. These were some of the main scenarios in the film Angels and Demons, based on the book by Dan Brown.
Colosseum
The greatest Roman symbol is that postcard that every traveler should take at least a look at. The amphitheater was completed in the year 79, when it could house an average of 60 thousand people. Until the medieval era, the building was used for various public presentations, such as gladiator combats, simulated sea battles and hunting wild animals. When you visit the place, you can also cross off one of the 7 wonders of the modern world from your bucket list!
Roman Forum
Visiting this space is like taking a trip back in time and landing in the middle of Ancient Rome. This is because the place was, for centuries, the main commercial point and the center of public life in the Roman Empire. It was there that great ceremonies, elections, public speeches, criminal trials, clashes between gladiators took place… A magnificent open-air museum!
Trajan’s Market
It’s not difficult to understand why Rome attracts millions of tourists every year. When visiting the city, you will see beautiful monuments, fascinating works of art and ruins that tell the story of humanity, such as the Mercati di Traiano. This complex of buildings was used as the headquarters of the administrative activities of the Roman Empire and as a commercial center. A preserved and impressive portrait of Western history!
Venice Square
Piazza Venezia is a large square where the most important avenues in Rome meet, including Via del Corso and Via dei Fori Imperiali. One of its attractions is the Venice Palace, which was once the papal residence. Another highlight of the place is the view of the Vittoriano Monument (or National Monument to Victor Emmanuel II), a majestic building made of white marble dedicated to the first king of Unified Italy.
Trevi Fountain
It is impossible to travel to Rome without visiting its most famous fountain! The 18th-century Baroque work was, like many of the city’s monuments, commissioned by a pope, Pope Urban VIII. Located next to Palazzo Poli, the Trevi Fountain features impressive sculptures, highlighting the perfection and detail of the statue of Neptune, the god of the sea. If you visit the place, don’t forget to turn your back to the fountain and throw a coin in its waters. They say whoever does this will return to the city! 😉
Pantheon
Even almost two thousand years after it was built, the Pantheon still impresses and is a must-see on any trip to Rome, whether for its architectural, historical or artistic value. This ancient landmark was built in the 2nd century! The monument remained in use throughout its history, being one of the best preserved works of Ancient Rome. The Pantheon is located in Piazza della Rotonda and is currently used as a church.
Piazza Navona
In the Roman Empire, in the place where Piazza Navona is today, there was the Stadium of Domitian, a space where thousands of Roman citizens gathered and watched the sports of the time. Since the Renaissance, the square has been decorated with three beautiful fountains: Fountain of the Four Rivers, Fontana del Moro and Fountain of Neptune.
