Rome Marathon – Runners diary and details 2016/2017. The organization of the Rome Marathon in 2016 publish change in the date of the event, because of the extraordinary Jubilee. The organizers accepted the request made by the Vatican and Rome Capital to transfer the date of the most important Italian road race competition.
On April 3, 2016 Sunday, the day that had been set the date of 22th edition of the ACEA Rome Marathon will celebrate the “Divine Mercy Sunday”, one of the main days of the extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy proclaimed by His Holiness Pope Francisco. This date was established by the Vatican as part of the Jubilee Year of the program which will begin on december 8 and ends november 20, 2016.

The route starts on the Via dei Fori Imperiali at the Coliseum, through the city, passing through St. Peter’s Square, Piazza Venezia, the Pantheon, among other well-known sights. The maximum marathon time is set at 7 hours and 30 minutes in 42 km.
