Spanish Steps

This square is known as Spanish Steps because it houses the Spanish Embassy. It is one of the most emblematic places in Rome. The staircase is called the stairway to heaven because it is a perfectly constructed place with marble steps.

Near the square, there are places where you can buy delicious ice cream to enjoy the beautiful view and structure of the place. The Donne Sotto le Stelle parade, one of the events that takes place in July in Rome, graces the square. It’s perfect to go there on that date to see the parade.

It’s ideal to walk there in the late afternoon and sit on the steps to enjoy the sunset in the company of other tourists.

The Barcaccia is a baroque-style fountain shaped like a boat and is engraved with family coats of arms. It is located in the middle of Piazza di Spagna and you can take incredible photos of it in a unique style. You will find this fountain as you walk down the marble steps. If you go to Rome in the summer, you’ll find the fountain a welcome relief from Rome’s sweltering heat.

Trevi Fountain

The incredibly ornate Trevi Fountain (Fontana di Trevi) is the most famous fountain in Rome – and perhaps in all of Italy. At the center of the Baroque masterpiece is the Greek god of the sea, Oceanus, who is surrounded by mermen, seahorses and other figures from Greek and Roman mythology.

Visitors to the Eternal City flock to the Trevi Fountain, internationally recognized for its appearances in numerous films and the legendary good luck connotations of throwing a coin into its waters.

Piazza Navona

Piazza Navona in Rome is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the Eternal City and you can’t miss it!

One of the places that most attracts visitors in Rome, precisely because this square is beautiful, historic and has beautiful monuments in its surroundings. It’s a great place to take beautiful photos, as well as meals in one of the restaurants there.

It is worth noting that the Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi, which was sculpted between 1648 and 1651 by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, is one of the most famous attractions in the square and represents the most important rivers in the world at that time.

Given all this beauty and historical context, you can’t miss Piazza Navona in Rome. You can visit the fountains in the south and north areas, the Fontana del Moro and the Fontana di Nettuno (both were sculpted by Giacomo della Porta), the Sant’Agnese Church and the Palacio Torres Massimo Lancellotti.

The ancient and beautiful Palazzo Pamphilj, or Pamphili, dating back to 1650. So this tour is almost mandatory for anyone exploring the city!
