Itinerary Italy 7 days

Itinerary Italy 7 days – Tips for planning your trip. Italy is a wonderful nation, rich in monuments and historic cities, it is one of the most sought after goals by couples in love! Many leave on their honeymoon to Italy, but do they visit the best places?

Some cities in Italy are more suggestive and create a perfect atmosphere for romantics, such as Venice, with its canals, alleys and the famous gondola rides, or Sardinia with its Caribbean sea!

Here is our 7-day romantic itinerary in Italy!

Rome

Itinerary Italy 7 days

A big city and staying less than 3 days leaves a lot of good things out. Always consider 3 full days, not counting the day of arrival.

In Rome it is very easy to get around urban areas, so use and abuse them!

On the first day the couple can pay a visit to the historic center of Rome, and spend the day walking through the old streets of the center. The coolest tourist spots to visit are the Trevi Fountain, the Colosseum and the Pantheon.

For more religious couples, you cannot miss the Vatican City and the Vatican Museum.

This tour deserves at least a full day to be well appreciated, as the Vatican Museum is huge and spends all afternoon in there. If you’re lucky, you can even attend a Mass with the Pope.

An interesting place to visit is the Ponte de Milvio, where thousands of couples lock a lock on its edges. The ritual is simple: Buy a padlock and write the couple’s names on it. Go to the Milvio bridge and find a space to put your lock. (This is the hardest part) Lock the lock, declare your love to your love and throw the key in the river!

According to Roman tradition, your love will be with you forever!

Another suggestion is to admire the landscape from the dome of the church of San Pietro in via Niccolò Piccolomin. From this street, there is a very special view of the dome over the city. Another special place to see the basilica is Buco dell’Aventino. It is a keyhole in the Priorato dei Cavalieri di Malta, in Piazza Cavalieri di Malta.

Another tip for those who have never been to Rome is: Don’t be angry with Indian rose sellers in restaurants. They are everywhere!

They usually stand in front of your table looking at your face until you look at it. Usually they ask for 1 euro per flower. And since the theme of the trip is romanticism, why not buy flowers for your love!

I think Rome is a very special city and you could spend a lot more days there. On my last trip to Rome, I stayed for 1 week and I couldn’t see everything I wanted. The city offers a lot of nightlife and many parks and museums. Finally, Rome is a city for all tastes.

Florence

Itinerary Italy 7 days

A beautiful city, perhaps probably the most cultural city in Italy and the world!

It is about 230 km from Rome, so it is more convenient to travel by train or car.

Florence is surprisingly and wonderfully small, so two days should be enough to get to know it well!

The most interesting points are the Cupola del Brunelleschi, Piazzale Michelangelo, Piazza del Duomo, Giotto’s Campanile and the entire historic center.

Most of the sights are done on foot or by bicycle. A very romantic walk can be strolling through the flowers of Giardino Bardini or watching a classic at Teatro della Pergola. Italian operas are among the best in the world!

Verona

Historic city of Romeo and Juliet.

And that is why Verona deserves a visit by couples in love.

Itinerary Italy 7 daysA full day is enough to see the sights of Verona, which comprise the entire historic center.

Romeo and Juliet’s house, it is possible to write the couple’s names on the wall of the house.

In addition, another must-see for couples is to see a romantic show at Opera in Love (Via del Pontiere, 35).

Venice

Certainly, one of the most romantic cities in the world.

Its canals and small alleys create a very suggestive atmosphere for couples in love.

Itinerary Italy 7 days

The city is small, for sure, you can see a lot in just two days.

A tip for going to Venice by car, is to park in the neighboring small towns and go by train to Venice.

There you can only go on foot or by boat. So, if you don’t like to walk a lot, I suggest taking a tourist boat, which takes you directly to the city’s points of interest.

Or walk leisurely through the streets of Venice, where art is undoubtedly present on every corner.

St. Mark’s Basilica in Piazza San Marcos is the most visited spot in the city, although it was not the most beautiful place I saw in Venice. Some photos on the Grand Canal are mandatory, and the famous gondola ride is ideal for asking the cat to marry or for more inspired statements.

Undeniably, close the night with a show at La Fenice Opera House or at the Goldoni Theater. Attention, the most expensive coffee in Italy is sold in Venice, and can reach € 5. By the way, always take a look at the menus that are at the entrance of the restaurant before entering!

Cinque Terre

They are a region of the coast of Liguria, in northern Italy.

The five cities are Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore.

This region was considered one of the most beautiful in the world and was among the best European destinations.

With breathtaking landscapes, 2 or 3 days to relax in this final phase of the trip.

Several beaches, historic cities and a lot of nature are the strengths of this region.

An activity for the more active is to complete the trail between Monterosso and Vernazza.

I guarantee that the landscape is unique and breathtaking! The Borgo Antigo de Monterosso also deserves a visit and a candlelit dinner. The National Park of the Five Lands is very beautiful, and needs a whole day to be lived to the full.

Not recommended for sedentary people!

The Via dell’Amore trail is also on the top ten list, but until recently it was closed, and I don’t know if it has reopened.

The Fegina beach in Monterosso offers one of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen in my life! I recommend! It is easily reached by car or train. If you travel by train, you need to go to Genova and take the regionals to the Five Lands. If time is short, consider a flight from Venice to Genoa.

Making this trip during the warmer seasons, you cannot leave Sardinia aside. With spectacular Caribbean seas. The whole of Sardinia is worth a visit, and a dedicated trip is for this purpose, so if you have at least 3 days, I recommend Madalena

For sure, take a day to visit the most distant beaches on a boat trip, especially on Santa Maria Island. At night you can eat at the delicious fish menu in the center and stroll through the city’s fairs.

To reach Maddalena, it is necessary to go by plane or if you are driving, you can take the ferry from Genova or Livorno. The ferry ride lasts all night, so a hotel night is saved.

The ferry is huge and has everything there to have fun, eat and rest. Flights and boats arrive in Olbia, from where you can take a bus or car to Maddalena (about 1h30).
