The markets were the strategic administrative center of the imperial era with all kinds of shops, successively became a noble residence, military fortress and prestigious convent.

We continue towards the Aventino district, one of the 5 hills of Rome. On the way, we stopped at Circus Maximus, a large field that was once a stadium for games and brawl races.
What is now a public park was once a stadium where major competitions were held in ancient times. The Circus Maximus in Rome was one of the most popular sites in the city in ancient times and you have the opportunity to visit it today.
Soon after, we head towards the famous Bocca della Veritá, which is at the entrance to the Santa Maria di Cosmedin Church. It is tradition to put your hand inside your mouth. Legend has it that she bites the hand of liars… So, take a chance? You might find a small queue, but you won’t have to wait long.
It is also worth visiting the church, whose interior is beautiful and has a crypt and a crystal reliquary with the skull of Valentine’s Day.

To end the day, we went up to the Giardino Degli Aranci, the “Orange Trees Garden”. The garden is beautiful and offers an incredible view of the city, especially at sunset. PIAZZA CAMPO DE’ FIORI
Separate the second day of the itinerary to visit the main squares, fountains and monuments of Rome.
We start the day in Piazza Campo De’ Fiori, one of the most charming places in Rome.
The past of the square
Campo dei Fiori Square was built in 1456 by order of Pope Calixto III in the place where there was a field of flowers, hence the origin of the name of the square.
After the refurbishment of the area and the construction of several important buildings, such as the Orsini Palace, the square became a popular place for the most important personalities.
Campo dei Fiori turned into a very prosperous place, filled with craft workshops and hostels, and there was a horse market twice a week.
The square was also the place where public executions took place and one of the ways to remember this is through the impressive statue of Giordano Bruno located in the center of the square. This philosopher was burned in the square in the year 1600, accused of heresy, and in 1889 the monument was built in his honor.

Currently, Campo dei Fiori is one of the most popular places in the capital. Every morning, from Monday to Friday, from 7 am to 1 pm, since 1869, there is a famous outdoor fair that sells flowers, fruits, spices, typical drinks and various products are sold.

PIAZZA NAVONA

Its architecture is stunning, it is possible to spend hours watching the details. In its center is the statue of Neptune, Roman god of the sea. Don’t forget to throw the coin to return to Rome!
But get ready to face a crowd no matter the time you go. If you have time, come back at night to see her illuminated.
The next stop is Spanish Square, with the imposing Trinità Dei Monti staircase. In the center of the square has a beautiful source, Fontana della Barcaccia, and at the top of the stairs is the Trinità Dei Monti Church. Go up and have an incredible view of the city. Just over 100 meters, is Capitoline Hill, where is Piazza del Campidoglio, designed by Michelangelo. If you like museums, it is worth entering the Capitoline Museum. Following the right of the square, you will pass a portal and reach a viewpoint with panoramic views of the Roman Forum. The view at the end of the day is beautiful!
If you are still disposed of, walk 400 m to the Theatre of Marcellus, which resembles the Colosseum. It is an interesting archaeological visit, but you can only see out.
