The Amalfi Coast is part of Campania (or Campania in Italian). It is a region on the southern coast of Italy with privileged nature between the blue sea and cliffs that form sculptures over the waters. It is no wonder that the coast is a World Heritage Site and is considered one of the most romantic places in Europe. Impossible to remain unscathed by such beauty.
The length of the coast: around 60 km between Sorrento and Salerno
The famous coastal road – which takes a breath at every turn – is approximately 60 km between the city of Sorrento and Salerno. It seems little, but because of the narrow stretch and full of curves and splendid visuals, the traffic is slow and to drive it is necessary to be very careful. Therefore, to cover the 60 km in high season it can take more than 4 hours (both by road and by the movement of tourists).

WHAT TO DO IN POSITANO

Speaking of Sicilian lemon, it is worth trying a lemon sorbetto or even a limoncello, a type of Sicilian lemon liqueur.
GET TO KNOW CHURCH OF SANTA MARIA ASSUNTA
Discover the Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta, the famous church that adorns all postcards with its colorful dome. The building is from the 17th century and inside there is an image of the Black Virgin. The visit is free.
ENJOY THE BEACH
Enjoy the beach, even if you are just passing through. The sand is not soft and the water is not clear, despite being transparent, but the weather is perfect! The beach is divided between paid, where the umbrellas are and free/free where the staff have their towels spread out on the sand. Easy to identify!
In the paid part that entitles you to umbrellas and chairs, there are bathrooms, showers, restaurant and a few other things included in the daily rate. Prices start from 25 euros for a pair of sun loungers and an umbrella.

Photograph the view, because there is no place that does not have a view. The whole city was built so that you could observe the sea and even at the bus stop you have a view, one of the best, even. VISIT AMALFI
The city that gives its name to the Amalfi Coast is pure charm. Everything you do in Positano, you can repeat it in Amalfi with the difference that there are much more options for more affordable restaurants, pizza from the counter at €1.50 and the free/free beach is smaller, but more beautiful than in Positano. The section between Positano and Amalfi can be done by boat with a ticket purchased on the spot or in advance by 12Go.
Surrounded by cliffs, the architecture of the city of Amalfi, dating from the 9th and 11th centuries, is beautiful and very interesting. Many buildings follow a medieval style, such as the Arsenale Amalfi Museum. Others, however, have Arab influence, such as the Cathedral and the Cloister del Paradiso, a beautiful monastery.
Not to miss it, put on comfortable shoes and walk around the city to appreciate all the exuberance of its architecture. On your itinerary from Italy to the Amalfi Coast, be sure to visit the Cathedral of Sant’Andrea. Located in Piazza del Duomo, it is dedicated to the Apostle Saint Andrew and even still holds the saint’s relics.
Built between the 9th and 10th centuries, its architecture mixes between different styles, such as Renaissance, Gothic, Baroque and Arab-Norman. A few years ago, the church’s architecture gained a new facade, in the Norman-Arabic-Byzantine style of the 19th century. When visiting the cathedral, discover the Basilica of the Crucifix, which dates back to the 9th century, and the Crypt of Saint Andrew.
Discover the Grotta dello Smeraldo in Amalfi
Still in Amalfi, the Grotta dello Smeraldo is an attraction in itself and draws the attention of many tourists. Located under the famous highway that cuts through the entire region, the cave was discovered in 1932 by local fishermen. Beautiful and with turquoise waters, it is even more dazzling when the sun’s rays enter through the cracks that are under the surface.
Access to the cave is made only by rowing boat. A tip is to book the tour in advance, as demand is always very high.
WALK TO ATRANI
It’s a tiny little town 200m from Amalfi. You can go walking and the view from above is a grace. There’s nothing to do but admire the scenery.
GO DOWN IN FURORE FJORD
It is a very small beach that is right under a huge bridge. There are some boats on the sand that add even more charm. The bus stops right in front of the steps leading to the beach.
SWIMMING IN PRAIANO
It is a tiny beach, of the exclusive type, which is characterized by the orange umbrellas and which has no sand. Access to the sea is via a metal ladder similar to those in a swimming pool. Already in Amalfi, the Mediterranean is its architecture, stacked houses and colorful buildings, Amalfi is easily one of the most famous cities in Italy.
Discover Villa Rufolo in RAVELLO
When choosing what to discover on the Amalfi Coast, Villa Rufolo must have a guaranteed place. In fact, the charming village is considered a historical and architectural heritage of the city of Ravello.
